Emman Montalvan lived in the Philippines all his life, until he last year made the move of his life: “- I moved to Los Angeles to further grow as an artist, try my luck and get inspired,” he says, before he adds: “- New York is next on my list.”

He’s a man with ambitions, and today he’s making his debut in front of our international audience with his first Ben Trovato Exclusive. In Park Ranger, he shoots the beautiful Leore Hayon styled by herself and Emman themselves, with Maria Noble being on the set as assistant. Emman says this about the story: “- I wanted to shoot Leore as natural as it could be. Beautiful backdrop, almost no-make-up look & casual styling. I love to shoot my subjects with available light. We shot Park Ranger at this beautiful park in LA. The result photos came out so relaxed and sexy in a subtle way. l love them.“

Everyday life, the people he meet, and music are among the biggest sources of inspiration for Emman, who started photographer right after high school: “- I never had any formal training with photography, but I started with fashion photography right after I graduated high school. I was 17 when I had my first camera. I just kept shooting anything that my mind would conceptualize. By the time I was a sophomore in college, around 2004, I started getting booked for jobs and thats when photography became my part-time job while I was trying to finish my college degree in Production Design in Manila, Philippines. Since then fashion, portrait and advertorial photography has been my life and my profession. I am 25 now and I still have have many things to absorb. So last year, I packed my stuff and moved to Los Angeles and thats where I’m currently based.”
