Vancouver based fashion photographer Alan Chan has been taking pictures ever since he got his first digital point and shoot at the age of 14. But it wasn’t until last summer he began shooting fashion. That besides working as a commercial pilot on the side: “- Shooting fashion photography made me realize being able to create an image with a team of talented people is so amazing. This also allows me to explore the creative side of me through my work, and being able to let me step back away from the so technical side of flying.”

He finds inspiration in the works of photographers such as Mario Testino, Patrick Demarchelier, Mariano Vivanco and Terry Richardson, but his job as a pilot might just be his biggest source of inspiration: “- I am able to see the world from above; and this inspires me to view the world entirely different from different angles and aspect on the ground.”

Apart from shooting for some local designers and magazines, his work has been featured in publications such as TLC Magazine, Vancouver Fashion eZine, and String Magazine.
