This summer the best of international film and fashion will again meet at La Jolla Fashion Film Festival in San Diego, California. It is the First International Fashion Film Festival Founded in North America, and it will, once again, be the world’s largest gathering of fashion film professionals.

Karl Lagerfeld, Bruce Weber, and our very own Marius Troy amongst many other creative professionals behind the worldwide fashion film art movement are invited to an exciting, glamorous, and informative event that features world class films and fashion personalities. LJFFF #2 was the largest gathering of fashion film professionals in history. The number of filmmakers, thought leaders, and opinion makers planning on attending LJFFF #3 in 2012 has already exceeded 2011.

Ben Trovato editor and founder Marius Troy will aside from being a panelist present one Ben Trovato fashion film in front of the fashion film world elite. That film could be yours!

We have many candidates to choose from, but we'd love even more, and we know there are many directors out there that would kill for an opportunity like this. So if you have an idea for a film, or you already have one you would like to submit, please write us on film@bentrovatoblog.com. Mark your email with LJFFF.

If we choose your film you will of course be given the opportunity to come on stage and present it together with Marius.

The films at LJFFF will be presented in three completely different screening programs 8:00 – 10:00pm July 26, 27 & 28th 2012 in the world class theater at the Museum of Contemporary Art La Jolla. Each night consists of about 20 short films.

"With all the end of the world stories we're exposed to these days with the year of 2012, I felt like using it and having fun creating my own end-of-the-world scenario!" Lorent Kostar tells us of his first ever Ben Trovato story, Dark Athena - The Last Day. "What would be left on earth?" he asks rhetorically. "I created a warrior princess, the only human being surviving in a chaos landscapes. This way, each set of pictures somehow represents one element raging against her : water, earth, fire and air. Our Dark Athena fights them."

Charlotte Moulard was born into a storyteller family, and was fascinated by illustration and photography already as a child. In 2005 she discovered art, and while studying at ESAG in Paris she fell in love with graphic design and photography. "It was a decisive meeting for my future," she tells us. "After graduating, I first worked as a junior Art Director in agencies and for luxury brands before going back to school in 2008 at Les Gobelins (Paris) to improve my technical knowledge of Photography."

Thom Kerr's approach to fashion photography and digital art has always intrigued us, and last year he made his debut on Ben Trovato with a genius story entitled Viper Girl, presented as fashion comic. This time around Kerr is taking us into outer space.

"The Chaos Theory is an exploration of the birth of the universe," he explains, adding "A mystical being that oversees both the beginning and the end. As a child I was obsessed with mythology, so I think this is a combination of the Goddess archetype I love crossed with my deep fascination with space and it's limitless possibilities. She dances between positive and negative energy, both fragile and powerful at the same time. She is symbolic of all stages of creation - a mystery within herself."

We've seen a lot of great photographers come out of Portland as of late, and Jessica Weiser is no exception. She's been in love with photography since she was nine years old, and studied photojournalism at Ball State University in Muncie, IN. "- I studied Photojournalism in college but I always had a love of portraiture," she tells us, and explains "I took a few years off from photography and found my way back and started shooting portraits of anyone I could for practice. Eventually I wanted to combine a lot of my interests (fashion, art, portraiture) into fashion photography."

The single most glamourous and important event of the year in the fashion universe is here. New York Fashion Week is something every fashion interested soul in the world would give a small fortune to be a part of. However, 99% of all the fashion blessed beings out there will miss the majority of it. We at Ben Trovato aim to change that.

Today Ben Trovato launched 'Faces Of NYFW,' a digital campaign offering you the raw, uncensored, blow-by-blow visual accounts of what's really going down in media and social media - the heartbeat of NYFW A/W 2012 in one accessible place!

FacesofNYFW.com will work as an aggregator pulling content from our unique hashtag #FONYFW (as well as #NYFW & #MBFW) on Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram, making it easy for anyone to share their NYFW experience with the whole world. The custom made site will offer a user friendly interface whilst keeping with Ben Trovato's high design standards, to ensure a premium experience that our audiences have come to expect.

In true Ben Trovato spirit we are also sending undercover a handpicked group of cutting edge aspiring fashion photographers, including Bryant Eslava, Billy Rood, and Dilia Oviedo, - to shoot exclusively for you. Mixed with their live accounts we are curating selected VIP attendees' moments and, as mentioned above, YOURS.

When you are attending a happening surrounding New York Fashion Week simply add #FONYFW to your tweet, Instagram or tumblr post and it will be registered for us to feature on the site. To share your location with our readers turn 'on' geotags on your phone or in your twitter client when you tweet, and we'll show everyone where your photo was taken.

This is NYFW presented the Ben Trovato way. We are giving you another unforgettable visual fashion experience.

Make sure to tune into FacesofNYFW.com (or simply fonyfw.com) or @fonyfw on twitter. And remember to use the hashtag #FONYFW to share your NYFW experience with the world.
